* Top NDLEA operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport say they are still waiting patiently for Baba Suwe's "Expensive Shit" for proper analysis to either confirm their suspension or clear doubts.


* Insider sources however argued that the man has been eating fine and has gone to toilet today with no  sign of Cocaine and that the agency is waiting for his "second shit (abi third shit)" with a view to clear all doubts.

Only yesterday (Thursday 13th October, 2011), I tried to link the unacceptable upsurge in rape cases in the country to the ‘decadents’ that is being celebrated in Nollywood, a situation where juveniles are exposed to ‘graphic’ sex acts through Nigerian movies. Some critics wanted to crucify me. And my question to such people was: 'To what do we ascribe these incessant cases of rape'? 

While I was considering how to discuss the recent case of a 70-year old man who took an eight (8) years old girl to a hotel room and forcefully had sex with her, yet another ugly incident was brought to my knowledge. This one also involves another eight year old. What exactly is happening? Are we in “raping season” in Nigeria? Please can someone tell me what the National Orientation Agency is doing about this ugly trend?

LATEST UPDATES AS AT 17th OCTOBER...
Spokesman of the agency, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, said: 

“Baba Suwe is still in our custody and under observation. Since he was arrested Wednesday, he has excreted twice. First, he excreted on Friday and we did not find any drug and on Saturday he excreted again, still we did not find any drug.
But, it is normal because we would not have arrested him if the scanner did not show that he has something in his system. We have had people who stayed longer before they started excreting; so, we are still observing him. It is just that we are now doing our investigation on this particular suspect on the pages of newspapers.”
