Female Condom Causes Uproar in South Africa

A South Africa Judge, Sullette Potterill, recently stopped the government from buying 11 million packs of condom from China and re-awarded the contract to a Cape Town company because the made-in-China ones are too small for South African Women.

Setting aside the decision of the minister of finance to award the contract to a company that would import from China, it was reasoned that the Chinese female condom - ‘Phoenurse’ - have not been approved by the World Health Organisation and other relevant regulatory bodies. Furthermore, the product was discovered to be about 20 percent smaller than the approved size.

No doubt, female condom is a matter of high importance in South Africa in its battle against the indiscriminate spread of HIV/AIDS. The country currently has the highest recorded cases of infection in the world.

Bola Tinubu's Corruption Trial Begins in Abuja

The national leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has arrived Abuja ahead of the commencement of his corruption trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal today (Wednesday). 

He will be mounting the dock to defend allegations of operating foreign accounts while he was serving as governor, contrary to the provisions of the law. As expected, the political atmosphere is highly charged in the federal capital territory, as ACN leaders and party members have converged on the city to "give support to their leader". 

I also heard the party is accused the PDP of harassment of its members and stopping them from travelling to Abuja to share solidarity with their leader... I'll keep you guys posted on this angle of the story.
